About Sunrise

Sunrise is an annual festival created in 2014 by Blackbird, a venture capital fund that invests in the Australian and New Zealand startup ecosystem. With a mission to inspire, celebrate, and bring together the ANZ startup community, Sunrise has hosted more than 4,000 participants from around the world over the years.

This year, the Sunrise festival was held in New Zealand; the second time in the festival’s history to take place there. The focus was on solving problems with hard tech, and rethinking the talent pipeline in NZ, with a powerhouse lineup of speakers including Cameron Adams (Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Canva), Tim Brown (Co-founder and Co-CEO at Allbirds), and Jon Gelsey (Ex-CEO, Xnor.ai & Auth0 Inc).

Why they chose FL0

Sunrise wanted to release an event website for this year’s festival that would include up-to-date information about its sponsors, as well as how to access the Brella app (used to view the event schedule and connect with attendees), and sli.do (for submitting questions to speakers in real time). This website would be foundational for the festival, being used by all IRL attendees, so it needed to be fast-loading, mobile responsive, and reflect the creativity and innovation of the Sunrise brand.

It made sense then for the Sunrise website to be hosted on FL0, given FL0’s ability to seamlessly deploy websites and databases with a single click. In less than a few minutes, the Sunrise website was up and running, with a custom domain included.
